EDI History
From our humble beginning in 1878 our family
business has been continually operating in Portland, Oregon. We're now operating
with the fifth generation of the Cronin Family. We look forward to serving you in
the future.
--- Sincerely, A.M. Cronin III
Our Company was founded by Patrick J. Cronin in Portland, Oregon in 1878. He manufactured
saddles and harness equipment. At the turn of the century, Ambrose M. Cronin Sr.
and Ambrose M. Cronin Jr. distributed tires and auto parts—the Cronin Company was
an automotive wholesaler. In 1934, Electrical Distributing, Inc. was franchised
by Zenith Radio Corporation and spent 60 years as a Zenith distributor. In an effort
to diversify, EDI continued to add tier one brands like Samsung, Toshiba, JVC, Weber
and LG Appliances to the portfolio. EDI corporate offices are in Portland Oregon
with an additional office and warehouse in Seattle, Washington. We pride ourselves on being
the best solution to solve our dealers consumer electronic needs. With our experience
and distribution capabilities we’re widely recognized as the Northwest’s premier
Distributor of CE products.
